Sep 9 My Favorite Baby Lotion Review

Last month, I had the opportunity to join JOHNSON’S® in New York City for their special reveal of the brand’s relaunch. You guys saw on my social channels how informative it was to speak to the scientists and moms who are the backbone behind this project. In case you missed it, catch up on the event on my stories highlight here. One of the stations there I LOVED was the Think Like A Parent station. I loved testing out the new Baby Lotion scent and feeling the new CottonTouch™ Lotion hands on. When the new JOHNSON’S® Baby Lotion arrived at my door after our trip for me to try with Kai, I could barely wait to open it! Today, I am so excited to test it out with you!

Did you know that JOHNSON’S® truly values the power of gentle? That’s why they re-evaluated their formulas and reduced the number of ingredients in their product portfolio by more than 50%. Their Baby Lotion is now made with coconut oil and is dye free! Kai started school this week and her skin had been extra dry from being outdoors on the playground all the time. Her knees are the toughest spots. This package couldn’t have arrived at a better time! We tested it together and here is what we thought:

Packaging:

From the first look, the JOHNSON’S® Baby Lotion looks instantly more modern and simplified. The bottle is shaped for easy grip (if you have ever tried to put lotion on a wiggly 2 year old, you would know exactly how helpful this is!). JOHNSON’S® also added more parent friendly pumps. I could EASILY pump with 1 hand and hold Kai with the other.

Feel:

Touch is so important to the development of babies. I have a special bonding routine with Kai whenever we lotion up. At night, it usually is our tickling, kissing tummy time and I look forward to it every day. The feel of a lotion is extremely important to me. My favorite thing about the new JOHNSON’S® Baby Lotion is the “hand.” The texture is fluffy, silky, delicate and fast absorbing. It leaves Kai’s skin feeling soft and smooth, without leaving behind unwanted residue. She is now always so eager to run off right after a lotion-ing session, I am so thankful for the new, fast absorbing formula! She didn’t feel sticky at all.

Scent:

The classic smell of JOHNSON’S® Baby Lotion has always been something that connected Kai and me. I love that the memory of this smell takes me back to her very first baths and the snuggle session that followed. The new JOHNSON’S® Baby Lotion is clean, refreshing and just rosy. It’s also formulated extra gently without any fragrance allergens.

Takeaway:

My overall impression of the new formula is very positive. Kai seemed to really enjoy the feeling of it and likes to put it on herself (as I shed a tear because she’s such a big girl now)! The biggest differentiator is how soft it feels and how fast it absorbed.
