The Ultimate Family Staycation at The Woodland's Resort
Before Kai started her first day at school, I thought it would be fun for us to take a family staycation trip. Little did I know, there would be an oasis awaiting us a mere 30 minutes away from Houston Downtown! If you live in the Houston area, you HAVE TO check out The Woodlands Resort! It’s hidden amongst 28,00 acres of piney forrest. It’s beautiful, filled with amenities (waterpark anyone?), packed with activities and food options. The best part, our kiddo has the time of her life! Here are 3 trip highlights I wish I could re-live every day!
Amazing In-Room Ameneties
Our Deluxe King room overlooked the 18th hole of the golf course. Not only was it beautifully designed, it was spacious enough to fit a pack and play for Kai. The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept on. Our room was located on Aviator’s Landing Club Level and it was worth every bit. This exclusive floor has a luxurious club with complimentary refreshments, daily breakfast offerings, fancy coffee makers and a social hour with hors d’ oeuvres all included in the price. Kai LOVED having a free treat after a long day at the waterpark
THE FOOD! OMG THE FOOD!
The way to my heart is 100% through my tummy. The amazing variety of culinary experience The Woodlands Resort has to offer is vast and with family in mind. Kai got her fill on pancake, waffles, omelette bar at The Woodland Dining room. The breakfast buffet was a huge hit with everyone in the family. The highlight of the meals has to be our visit to the Robard’s Steakhouse! The entire atmosphere is imaginative and stunning from the get go. The decor is warm, luxurious and only to be outdone by the incredible food! Go for happy hour at the bar and get all my favs! Here is our recommendation:
Poke Poke Poke - Crispy rice, fresno chili - lemon garlic aioli's
Truffle Burrata - Black mission figs, toasted hazelnuts, nasturtium
Strawberry Mojito - Organic berries introduced to fresh mint lime, and Bacardi Rum
Outdoor Activity Mecca!
Every season, The Woodlands Resort offers many fun ways for the whole family to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. In the Spring and Summer Forest Oasis: Lazy River & Waterpark is a must visit for any family in Houston! We spent every free minute splashing in the toddler area, floating the lazy river and sharing ice cream under the cabana. The only regret is that we didn’t stay longer! I guess that just means we have to head back in the fall for kayaking, paddle boat rentals. stand up paddleboarding and s’mores!
